Some of these works have been published elsewhere. In some cases, works have been optioned and / or had their copyrights reassigned. In this case, extracts are offered as a taster of how my writing style has changed (improved?) over a number of years. This is because some of the works listed on this page are now embarrassingly old, being written whilst still at school.

2003
The Boy Who Disappeared
September 2003 U F Fiction
A boy on the cusp of adulthood suddenly becomes completely invisible. Short science fiction story that not only satirises current trends in science and politics but also starts to explain that beard I wore for several years.

Limited Edition
May 2003 U F Fiction
A collection of short stories. As the name suggests, I'm not going to let these out into the wild, but these brief extracts will provide a flavour of the kind of work I have become interested in more recently.

The Lion's Final Roar
Spring 2001 P N Articles Barefacts (published pseudonymously)

36 Hours In The Life Of A Valentinophobe
February 2001 P F Articles Barefacts
"Award-winning" Valentine's Day special feature, a semi-fictional and slightly humorous look at the purpose of the annual ritual humiliation. It evidently touched a nerve on the University of Surrey campus. Eighteen months on, the author was still getting "fan-mail" over this article.

The early years
I Miss You [MIDI]
1999 U   Misc
Song (words by Caroline Abbott) in the most melancholy of keys.

Murphy's Law
November 1999 U F Fiction
The best day of Adrian's life goes suddenly and unexpectedly badly wrong. Can things get any worse? The opening portion to the first draft feature-length screenplay.

A New Start
Summer 1999 U F Fiction
A community of young people struggle to come to terms with their own survival post-apocalypse. Diary-style medium-length story about my favourite topics of love, death, suicide and Armageddon.

Fortune's Fool
Spring 1999 U F Fiction
A retired university professor is surprised with some faces from his past. Short story about the ever-lasting grief of a lost love.

Witnessing The End
Spring 1999 U F Fiction
A young boy watches as his father prepares for the end of the world. Short story about - wait for it - love, death, Armageddon - you know the drill by now.

The Voyager and The Lost World
1998
1996
U F Fiction
In The Lost World, the crew of the Federation Star Ship Promise investigate an ancient mystery. In The Voyager, the commanding officer of the Invicta finds himself being warped through time and space.
Two installments in a proposed series of Star Trek© fan-fiction devised by Rupert Woolger. The former introduces the characters and tongue-in-cheek narrative style: the characters are all based on school and university friends, morphed into "aliens" according to their individual characteristics. The latter combines elements from the earlier episode with sections of the film Star Trek Generations and the amazing sci-fi series Quantum Leap. The story was written two years before the star of Quantum Leap, Scott Bakula, was announced as being the star of the new Star Trek series, Enterprise.

Up My Boar
1997 P F Fiction Boar consortium
A comprehensive collection of amusing, rude and downright crude notes and quotes from the good ol' Judd School's class of '97. Co-written by Ben Raveney, Peter Clark et al. Retrospectively, utterly libelous and defamatory.

Corporal Punishment
1996 P F Fiction Charity revue
A savage edit of the funniest episode of possibly the funniest comedy series ever written, enabling the entire episode to be performed in under fifteen minutes, whilst preserving the story and all the jokes. Written by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, geniuses both.

Follow The Leader
1996 U F Fiction
Agents in a top-secret government organisation lose their lives in a bizarre series of misfortunes. An early short story, exploring some of the themes that would become prevalent, but with a distinctly under-developed writing style.

Xmas Cross [MIDI]
1995 U   Misc
Frenetic medley of Christmas songs, arranged for quartet.

Reverie Dans La Crepuscule [MIDI]
1994 U   Misc GCSE coursework
Piece for solo clarinet and piano.
